		<description>An XP repair might work (assuming this was XP).  Backup and reformat is the ultimate version of that.  But you need the discs.  Most manufacturers do supply them, but they get lost.

Could also be a hardware problem.  It can get messy on these older machines with one problem masking another.</description>
